Liquid Robotics, Inc., the pioneer in unmanned ocean robots, was named one of Robotics Business Review (RBR) Top 50 most noteworthy companies in the global robotics industry for 2015. In the fourth annual RBR50 list, Liquid Robotics was recognized for the Company’s innovation and development of the Wave Glider®, the world’s first hybrid wave and solar powered ocean robot, enabling businesses, governments and scientists to explore and monitor the world’s oceans in areas and over time periods never before possible or cost effective. RBR50 companies are recognized based on their innovation, groundbreaking application(s), commercial success and potential, and represent many different levels and facets of the robotics ecosystem.
“We are honored to be recognized by RBR for our leadership in ocean robotics for the fourth year in a row,” said Gary Gysin, President and CEO, Liquid Robotics. “It’s an exciting time in the field of robotics, specifically, ocean robotics, as we transition from small pilots to large fleets of autonomous vehicles solving critical business and environment assessments needs for global organizations.”
The RBR Top 50 represents an international compilation that spans eleven countries and in addition to the large conglomerates, twenty percent of the list is comprised of lesser-known startups. The RBR50 list is dynamic, with robotics companies entering and leaving on an annual basis and thus creating a list that is indicative of where the global robotics industry as a whole is headed.
“2015: Year of the Inflection Point in robotics,” says Tom Green, RBR Editor in Chief. “What a great time to be counted among the global best in the fastest rising industry in the world. Once again, the robotics community has done a stellar job in selecting those few to represent all.”
